“I Saw Him Mistreat Some of the Crew” – Valkyrae Shares Her Experience on the New Minecraft Movie
YouTuber Rachell Marie Hofstetter, known online as Valkyrae, let slip some alleged details from the set of the upcoming Minecraft movie, in which she says she appears.
Appearing on JasonTheWeen's stream on Twitch, Valkyrae was asked for her "worst celebrity or streamer experience."
Deliberating for a moment before deciding to tell the story, Valkyrae revealed she has "a cameo in the Minecraft movie" and said her worst experience was with the film's lead, Jason Momoa.
"I saw him mistreat some of the crew, and it was pretty disappointing," Valkyrae went on to say – making a slight disclaimer – "It was after a very intense scene, so maybe he was still in character."
"I was just surprised by how he treated some of the crew," Valkyrae said.
Pushed to expand on Momoa's alleged actions, Valkyrae says, "He was just really mad at them that they weren't doing something right, like setting up the shot. He was just angry. Like, really mad. And yelling. I was like, 'This is not a good work environment. I would not be happy working under these conditions.'"
Upon wrapping the film, Jason Momoa called making the Minecraft movie "one of the greatest times of [his] life" in a video where he also said that the process was filled with "too many laughs".
As of publication, there has been no official comment from Momoa.
The film is expected in movie theaters on April 5, 2025.
