Saweetie's Natural Curls Could Not Be Any Bouncier

Saweetie is feeling curly. The “Nani” rapper showed off her natural curls on TikTok while getting a trim from stylist Sabrina Ahmed and they could not be bouncier.

In the short video, Saweetie sits in the salon chair in a casual black tank with a stiletto-shaped baby pink manicure as Ahmed works behind her, spritzing the curls with styling spray and fluffing them out as she goes. Saweetie's hair currently hits just above her collarbone, falling in thick, loose ringlets around her face. At the end of the video, Saweetie flips her head over and plays with her hair a bit too, and to say the final result is gorgeous is an understatement.

We don't often see Saweetie's curls, as she loves changing up her look with wigs—like the floor-length pink one she wore in the “Nani” video, for example—and fans were obsessed with the look. A quick scroll through both her TikTok and Instagram comments reveals lots of heart-eye and fire emojis. “There isn't a style that won't look bomb on her,” wrote one TikTok user. “Icy bae never misses,” wrote another. “Immaculate ik that's right,” added another, using Saweetie's signature catchphrase. Another called the curls “pretty AF,” and we agree.

Saweetie shaved her head at the end of 2021, debuting a buzz cut that she later dyed hot pink. At the time, she credited her meditation journey for inspiring the big chop. "I just found so much clarity within myself," Saweetie explained at the time. “I wanted to start over and I did research about hair and hair holds a lot of energy … I really just wanted to start over again.” A few years later, she gave fans a peek at the grow-out process, sharing some vacation snapshots that revealed her hair had grown to shoulder length.

In early 2024, she told Allure that while she learned that “shaving your head don't change your problems," she still believes that her hair holds energy and makes that part of her self-care routine. “The shower is my safe space,” she shared. “I love taking out a wig or a weave, washing my hair, and really letting the energy off my head. I think that's how I cope. I like to get roses and put them on the floor and stand on them.”
