Schoolboy Q released his fourth studio album, Blank Face LP, on Friday and has recently shared short films for its songs "By Any Means" and "Tookie Knows II." The clips are part of a larger narrative whole, and on Monday, the Los Angeles rapper posted a clip for "Black THougHts," which concludes the video trilogy.
The video for "By Any Means" documented a day in the life of a fictionalized Q and his friends, while the clip for "Tookie Knows II" depicted an armed robbery and subsequent detention. "Black THougHts" presents two narrative conclusions for the story: While in a courtroom, Q imagines one future where he's sent to prison and another where he's acquitted and can continue to enjoy life with his daughter.
Schoolboy Q released a remixed version of the Blank Face LP single "THat Part" on Friday that replaced Kanye West's verse with contributions from Q's labelmates Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock. On the remix — which has now been taken down — Q referenced Alton Sterling, who died after being shot by a police officer.
