Sci-Fi Thriller Drama ‘Halcyon’ From Colin Trevorrow & Andrew Mittman In Works At Amazon
EXCLUSIVE: Amazon is developing Halcyon, a sci-fi thriller drama series for Prime Video, based on Christopher Long’s graphic novel Hiding In Time, from Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow and his Metronome Film Company and Andrew Mittman’s 1.21. MGM Television, where Mittman is under an overall deal, is the studio. Trevorrow directs the pilot.
Created by Richard Smith, who penned the pilot, Halcyon is a paranoid sci-fi thriller in which the Witness Protection Program relocates families to various eras in time. The series unravels a conspiracy that emerges when this seemingly infallible system is breached.

Davey Holmes (Get Shorty, Shameless) will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Smith will executive produce along with Trevorrow via Metronome, Mittman for 1.21, and Lloyd Braun.
Trevorrow made his directing debut with Sundance hit Safety Not Guaranteed. Handpicked by Steven Spielberg, Trevorrow went on to relaunch the Jurassic Park franchise with Jurassic World in 2015, which earned more than $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office. He executive produced the 2018 sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and returned to direct the latest installment, Jurassic World: Dominion. He’s currently executive producing the upcoming Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, Netflix’s CG animated follow-up sequel series to Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. Trevorrow is repped by WME.
Mittman executive produced Amazon’s Christoph Waltz-fronted series The Consultant, which launched on the streamer in February, and on the film side, most recently executive produced the 2022 film Elvis, which earned Austin Butler a best actor Oscar.
Smith is repped by Wonder Street. IP is repped by David Server and Ray Miller at Venture Entertainment Partners.
