Scotland's First Minister Sends Direct Message to Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is making her way to Edinburgh, and First Minister of Scotland John Swinney is making a point to send the superstar a warm welcome.
The "Fortnight" songstress will be performing three shows in the capital city this upcoming weekend, but before hitting the stage, Swift received a direct video message from Swinney that was uploaded to X on Wednesday, June 5.
"The first thing I want to say to Taylor and to all of her Swifties is that they're really, really welcome here in Scotland," Swinney said, adding that he is "so thrilled" to be hosting the Grammy winner and her fan base.
Plus, Swinney was jazzed about "the fact that Loch Tay is being renamed Loch Tay Tay," a gesture he called "just fabulous."
"And I speak as someone who represents Loch Tay, who loves Loch Tay, who's got the privilege of representing the area to see an extra special welcome to Taylor to Scotland."

He continued, "I really hope she has the chance to go and see Loch Tay, or should I say, Loch Tay Tay, because it is the most beautiful part of Scotland."
"She'll get a really warm welcome here and I know all of the Swifties will be exhilarated by her presence in Scotland," Swinney's message concluded.
But along with the excitement that comes from Swift bringing her history-making tour to Scotland's capital, officials have also stressed the importance of fans following the safety procedures put in place for the sold-out shows.
In a press release titled "Edinburgh gets Taylored," the City of Edinburgh reminded Swifties to "Only travel to Scottish Gas Murrayfield and the surrounding area if you have a ticket."
They also implored fans to be respectful of the community while traveling to the show by encouraging concertgoers to use litter bins, be respectful to local residents and to plan ahead for travel and lodging accommodations.
