Sean Hannity slams Mitt Romney for Donald Trump criticism: 'Are you just jealous?'
On Tuesday, Sean Hannity had a message for Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), one of the few Republicans in congress willing to publicly criticize President Donald Trump. Romney has criticized Trump for attacking the late Sen. John McCain, denounced the president’s dealings with Ukraine, and slammed Trump’s decision to withdraw troops from Syria, among other things.
“I know he would have been a much better president than Obama if he had won in 2012,” Hannity said. “I don’t know what’s going on, Mitt, but honestly you’re losing it, and to me, it’s kind of sad to watch this.”
Mitt Romney never knew how to win. He is a pompous “ass” who has been fighting me from the beginning, except when he begged me for my endorsement for his Senate run (I gave it to him), and when he begged me to be Secretary of State (I didn’t give it to him). He is so bad for R’s!

I’m hearing that the Great People of Utah are considering their vote for their Pompous Senator, Mitt Romney, to be a big mistake. I agree! He is a fool who is playing right into the hands of the Do Nothing Democrats! #IMPEACHMITTROMNEY

Trump has repeatedly lashed out at Romney in tweets, calling the senator a “pompous ass” and calling for his impeachment (Senators can’t be impeached), and Hannity, following Trump’s lead, hurled a few insults of his own at Romney.
Speaking directly to Romney, Hannity said, “Frankly, you’re morphing into what is only a quintessential swamp, milquetoast, kind of weak, sanctimonious Washington swamp politician.”
Hannity went on to surmise that maybe Romney’s criticism of Trump simply comes from a place of stylistic differences, but threw another jab at the Senator anyway. Rather than entertain the possibility that Romney is just speaking up for what he believes is right, Hannity drew his own conclusion.
“So one needs to ask,” Hannity said, “are you just jealous that the president is accomplishing everything pretty much you said, ‘’Cause I interviewed you a lot, you wanted to accomplish?’”
Hannity airs weeknights at 9 p.m. on Fox News Channel.
