You know it's real when it's time to break out the yarn to make an evidence board.

HBO Max has released a new trailer for Search Party season 4 previewing the forthcoming hijinks. In the mystery-satire's new 10-episode season, Elliott (John Early), Portia (Meredith Hagner), and Drew (John Reynolds) band together once again to find a missing person; however, this time around, that person is actually in danger and not just hiding out in Canada after a bad break-up like in season 1. Of course, the MIA individual is Dory (Alia Shawkat), who was kidnapped by her insane stalker (Cole Escola) after beating a murder charge at the end of season 3.

In season 1, Dory led the charge to find Chantal Witherbottom (Clare McNulty), dragging her reluctant and disinterested friends along for the ride. Without Dory around this time, though, it's up to the trio to motivate themselves to solve this mystery, assuming they can But as the trailer teases, tracking Dory down will take more than simply making their own Carrie Mathison-like evidence board with yarn and will test their endurance.

"I'm ready to give up," a defeated Elliott says in the promo after the group runs into a deadend. "I mean if I'm being honest, I was ready to give up in the car."

Other highlights from the trailer include: Portia in Dory cosplay for her latest movie, Elliott holding two colorfully bedazzled pistols (for reasons?), Escola's unhinged performance, and guest-star Susan Sarandon kicking Dory down a set of stairs.

Search Party premieres Thursday, Jan. 14 with three episodes. The next three episodes arrive Jan. 21 and the final four launch Jan. 28.
