'Barry' Season 3 Finally Has a New Teaser—And It's Dark As Hell
Old habits die hard, but not as hard as the victims that Barry took out of this world at the end of Barry's second season. And now, after a long two-year hiatus, Barry is officially returning to HBO on April 24 for eight more episodes. In case you'd forgotten, shit is dire following that last season finale. Henry Winkler's Gene Cousineau discovered the truth of his partner's murder. Anthony Carrigan's Noho Hank became reviled by his compatriots. And, of course, Bill Hader's Barry went on a killing spree, undoing all that good work he's pushed for throughout the series. It seems there's no going back for our complicated friend Barry Berkman.
After a long wait for Season Three, the first official teaser has finally dropped with a few snippets of what's to come when the Alec Berg and Bill Hader creation returns to the 10pm time slot on Sunday nights on HBO and HBO Max. An accompanying release from HBO reveals more, teasing that the new season finds Barry at a complicated crossroads, with "Barry and the other characters trying to make the right choice." There's a lot of undoing of wrong choices that probably has to happen first though, right?
The new season announcement is welcome news after the COVID-19 pandemic delayed production for over a year. In January 2021, Hader told Seth Meyers, “Right when the lockdown happened in March we were a week away from shooting. The last time I was in a room with a lot of people was the table read for Episodes 1 and 2 of Season 3 and we were ready to go. And then it all got shut down. Season 3 is completely written and ready to go, and during this time we actually went and wrote Season 4, so we have both of those kind of done. We’re just waiting until we can start shooting again.”
Alongside Hader, co-stars Henry Winkler, Stephen Root, and Anthony Carrigan are slated to return to the series.
