Second date added amid high demand for Simone Biles tour at new Frontwave Arena

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Construction is nearing an end at the new Frontwave Arena being built in Oceanside, and the first event happening, Simone Biles’ gymnastics tour stop, has seen such high demand that another date has been added.

Tickets are on sale now for Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles’ “Gold Over America Tour (GOAT).” Due to what event organizers are calling overwhelming demand, another date has been added to the Oceanside tour stop.

Biles is coming to San Diego County following her historic run at the 2024 Olympics in Paris this summer and Oceanside is the first tour stop for the gymnasts.

Biles, now the most decorated gymnast of all time, along with some of America’s best gymnasts, will be taking the show on the road to tour 30 arenas across the United States this fall.

The GOAT tour will now be in Oceanside on Monday, Sept. 16 and Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Reggie Bush brings Heisman Trophy home to San Diego

When it opens this year, the Frontwave Arena will be the home of the new NBA G-League San Diego Clippers. The 7,500-capacity venue will also be the new home to the Major Arena Soccer League’s San Diego Sockers.

This fall, the arena is also hosting an NBA pre-season game with the L.A. Clippers taking on the Brooklyn Nets on Oct. 8, Rocktoberfest with Seether, Giovannie and the Hired Guns, The Warning, and Tim Montana on Oct. 12, and Freestyle Explosion on Nov. 2, the venue website states.
