Nathy Peluso is offering an inside look into the creative process of her album, Grasa. On Monday, the Argentine star premiered a 12-minute short film documentary of how she made her LP standout “Remedio” with Rolling Stone.

“My friend Felix [Bollain] joined me with his camera during a period in which we were hanging out and working on ideas in the studio,” Peluso tells Rolling Stone. “From hours and hours of footage, he found these studio takes from when I was composing ‘Remedio.'”

“Not every song has the same process for me. Sometimes I start with a melody, other times with lyrics,” she adds. “This song, in particular, was an inflection point in the making of my album. It’s nice to remember that moment watching this beautiful short piece that Felix captured.”

In the short film, Peluso opens up on how different aspects of her life can serve as the “organic seed” for creation. She shared an anecdote about how a text from a soccer player inspired one of her lyrics. “If you’re not productive, it’s because you don’t want to be. The world is filled with signals and micro-universes to create from,” she explains in the video.

The video captures her and her producer bouncing between sounds for the song and how she landed on the final version of “Remedio,” which made it on Grasa.

“In each project, Nathy Peluso pours her soul and showcases exceptional artistic prowess,” director Bollain says. “She elevates the standard for everyone around her which makes working with her an invigorating challenge.”

Peluso released her album Grasa in May, featuring songs such as “Aprender a Amar” and “Menina” with Lua de Santana. The album earned the Argentine star several Latin Grammy nominations, including Best Rap Song for “Aprender a Amar,” Best Alternative Song for “El Día Que Perdí Mi Juventud,” and Best Long Form Music Video for the title track’s visual.

Last month, Peluso followed the album with a remix reimagining of some of the songs, called Club Grasa. She recently joined álvaro Díaz on “XQ Eres Así,” and will tour the United States for Grasa next March.
