Get a fast-and-funky bass line, an actor from the original Godfather, and a whole lot of people who know how to kick some butt, and you have the ingredients for an action-packed escapade.

Heist, not to be confused with the 2001 crime drama of the same name starring Gene Hackman and Danny DeVito — or 2001’s The Heist… or, for that matter, The Big Heist, also released in ‘01 — this brand new Heist stars Robert De Niro as the dreaded gangster Pope, who finds himself the target of a big-money robbery.

But would-be burglars Vaughn (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Cox (Dave Bautista) botch the operation and a shootout ensues. Soon the two are on the run, hijacking a city bus in a desperate attempt to buy time. The two men hold innocents hostage, with police officer Bajos (Gina Carano) and Pope’s right-hand man, Dog (Morris Chestnut), in hot pursuit.

From the look of the trailer, exclusively on Yahoo Movies (above), Heist is a mash-up of sorts — a hybrid of the 1994 bus thriller Speed, Steven Soderbergh’s Oceans caper movies, with a dash Fast & Furious for good measure.

Also starring Kate Bosworth, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, D.B. Sweeney, Lydia Hull, and Tyler J. Olson, Heist barrels into select theaters and goes on-demand Nov. 13.
