See the stats: Jessica Alba's staggering success
When you think of billion-dollar businesses, does Jessica Alba come to mind? Because she should. The Honest Company, which she launched in 2011, is now valued at $1 billion. We’re talking B as in “Boy, that’s some major money.”
The company, which offers what it describes as eco-friendly and safe products, including baby items and a makeup line, just got a $200 million investment to reach a global audience. Alba’s company motto: “Everything that touches you and your family needs to be nontoxic.” Next year, Honest will expand its beauty line to Western Europe. World domination has begun.
Alba, who began her acting career as a teen, hasn’t slowed down one bit. At the age of 14, she starred in her first TV show, Flipper. Five years later, she got her breakout role on Dark Angel. The series about a badass female super-soldier was created by James Cameron (the mastermind behind Avatar and Titanic) and scored Alba her first Best Actress Golden Globe nomination in 2001.

She recently teamed up with actress Gabrielle Union for another big TV project: L.A.’s Finest, a spinoff of the Bad Boys film franchise. Alba is an executive producer on the show, alongside megaproducer Jerry Bruckheimer.
Alba also has a massive movie résumé, with more than 37 films and counting. Some fan favorites include Never Been Kissed, Into the Blue, Sin City, and Honey. She found love as well as fame at work: She met her husband, Cash Warren, on set in 2004. Alba was starring in Fantastic Four, and Warren was working as a production assistant. “Right after I met [Cash], I called my best friend and was like, ‘I met this guy and I feel like I’ve known him forever and I’m going to know him for the rest of my life,’” she told Cosmopolitan in September 2010.
The two tied the knot in a secret ceremony in 2008 and are now parents to three adorable kids: two daughters, Honor, 9, and Haven, 6, and son Hayes, born Dec. 31, 2017.

The actress, mom, and entrepreneur is very much about balancing work and family. “I want my kids to see me push outside my comfort zone,” she recently said in an interview with InStyle magazine. “Sometimes that means making mistakes and admitting them.” One thing she makes sure to tell her children: “All that matters is to be happy and live your life.”
