See the trailer for the Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet, filmed in NJ

If you didn't catch a glimpse of Timothée Chalamet while he was rocking around New Jersey in recent months, you can see him in the trailer for his next film, "A Complete Unknown."

On Wednesday, Searchlight Pictures dropped the first trailer for the film, a musical biopic directed by James Mangold, which follows iconic singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, portrayed by Chalamet, through the early years of his career.

The trailer opens with folk singer Pete Seeger, played by Edward Norton, telling an audience about the first time he met Dylan.

"I want to tell you a little story," says Seeger. "A few months back, my friend Woody Guthrie and I, we met a young man. He dropped in on us out of nowhere, and he played us a song. In that moment, we got a feeling, we were getting a glimpse of the future."

The teaser then cuts to Chalamet on stage singing Dylan's 1962 song, "A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall."

According to the film's synopsis on the Searchlight Pictures website, "A Complete Unknown" is set primarily in New York in the early 1960s.

It follows Dylan, 19, of Minnesota as he rapidly rises "as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts - his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation - culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965."

Although much of the film is set in New York, and the folk festival would theoretically be set in Newport, Rhode Island, many scenes were filmed in various spots around the Garden State.

Filming locations include Hoboken, Cape May, Jersey City, Paterson and more.

In April, Mario Costa, owner of The White Mana in Jersey City, confirmed to NorthJersey.com that his restaurant served as a filming location for the movie.

Costa said he was "humbled to have an opportunity to participate in this project," sharing that there was between 60 and 100 people on set from actors and actresses to the production crew, including "Dune" actor Chalamet.

Also in April, the crew was seen filming in downtown Paterson.

Cape May reportedly served as the location for the re-creation of the1965 Newport Folk Festival where Dylan performed his first public rock-and-roll set backed by an electric band. This controversial performance was met with a variety of reactions from anger to cheers. According to TIME, some audience members were dancing, some were crying, and others were simply overwhelmed by the "ferocious shock of the music."

Starring alongside Chalamet and Norton in the upcoming film are Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash and Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo among others.

The film is expected to premier in the United States in December. How many New Jersey locations will you spot?
