Selena Gomez is back on Instagram with a reflective post: 'I am proud of the person I am becoming'
Selena Gomez, once the most-followed person on Instagram, just posted a photo on the social media platform for the first time in nearly four months.
In a series of pics, the 26-year-old singer wished her 144 million followers a belated happy New Year, thanking everyone for their “love and support.”
“Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth,” she writes. “It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming. Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead.”

In September, Gomez announced she was taking taking break from social media. “As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given,” she declared.

One month later, it was reported that Gomez had entered a treatment facility to address “ongoing emotional issues.” The decision to seek help purportedly came after the 13 Reasons Why producer had a panic attack brought on by medical setbacks. Gomez suffers from lupus and had a kidney transplant in 2017. It was rumored Gomez left the facility in November, but she has never publicly commented on the treatment reports.
Gomez has kept a very low profile in recent months, but it seems she is easing back into social media — the “Back to You” singer just popped up on Taylor Swift’s Instagram three days ago.

And you know Swift wouldn’t post the photo without her bestie’s approval.
