Selena Gomez and super-producer Benny Blanco are a classic example of the timeless “friends to lovers” tale. The couple, who had been friends and musical collaborators for years before falling for each other, took their relationship public in late 2023 and since then have shared some seriously cute pics of one another — and lots and lots of PDA. Gomez has even publicly called Blanco “the best thing that's ever happened to me."

Prior to their relationship, Gomez had been pretty blunt about her single status, repeatedly joking about it on TikTok. However, the song “Single Soon” may have been a misnomer, as it appears she and Blanco were already dating by the time the single dropped in summer 2023. It certainly seems like Gomez is head over heels, as she called the producer “better than anyone I've ever been with.”

July 26, 2024: Benny Blanco narrates Selena Gomez's GRWM TikTok

Selena Gomez is no stranger to posting on TikTok — especially when it comes to promoting her beauty brand, Rare Beauty. On Friday, Gomez shared a GRWM (get ready with me) style video of herself using her products, but instead of her own voice sharing the process, it was Benny Blanco doing the narrating.

The funny, sweet voiceover showed Blanco's goofy personality — as he referred to almost every product as lipstick, and primer as “lotion.” “I don't even know why you need makeup you look so good,” Blanco says as Gomez begins applying the products.

When she gets to the part where she uses her eyebrow product, Blanco says, “This is how girls' eyebrows always look like little tigers."

Gomez can be heard in the background correcting Blanco in various parts of the video, explaining what she's using, including contouring and applying tinted moisturizer. “I just realized makeup is just drawing all over your face,” he says.

“I want this makeup," Blanco said. "Why don't I get any?”

At the end of the video, Blanco says more than once how “hot” Gomez looks before exclaiming he needs to end the video because “you're hot.” Watch the full chaotic video below:

July 22, 2024: Benny Blanco posts the sweetest throwback for Selena Gomez's 32nd birthday

To celebrate Selena Gomez's 32nd birthday on July 22, 2024, Benny Blanco took to Instagram to post a couple of snaps of the two spending time together — before they were even in a relationship, though you couldn't tell from the elated expressions on both of their faces.

In the carousel, Blanco included a picture of Gomez hugging a teddy bear and a behind-the-scenes shot from the recording of the “I Can't Get Enough” music video from 2019. (Gomez appeared in the video alongside her now-boyfriend, Tainy, and J Balvin).

“I used to play a teddy bear in [your] music video, and now I get to [be yours] in real life,” Blanco captioned the post. "Happy bday bb! I love u!"

In an interview with Time, Selena Gomez opened up about “torturing” herself for being alone and then accepting it, promising herself that if she was single by the time she turned 35, she'd adopt on her own. But then, she met Blanco and everything changed. “It just happens when you least expect it,” she said about finding love with the producer. “I just cherish every moment with him,” she added. "I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon.”

Just weeks before her interview, Blanco also spoke about his desire to tie the knot and eventually start a family with Gomez in an interview of his own. “I have a lot of God kids; I've got a ton of nephews. It's my thing, I love being around kids!" he admitted.

March 8, 2024: Selena Gomez shares sweet tribute to Benny Blanco for his 36th birthday

Selena Gomez professed her love for boyfriend Benny Blanco on main to celebrate his birthday. In honor of Blanco's 36th birthday, Gomez took to Instagram to post a carousel of pictures of the two spending time together, complete with what we believe is her first public “I love you.”

The first image in Gomez's birthday tribute showed the couple in a windy beach setting, with Blanco kissing the back of the singer's head. The next photo was a snapshot of the two lounging together on the sofa, while the third one was a B&W video of the two visibly (and audibly) sharing a kiss. Other slides included multiple kiss pics — cheek, lips, and tongue — as well as videos from their time at Disneyland.

“Happy birthday baby! Your emotional endurance, positive disposition, unbelievable talent (that blows me away), undeniable humor and loving, kind heart absolutely kill me,” Gomez wrote in her caption, signing off with an “I love you.” You can see the post below:

January 11, 2024: A source says #Selenny could be a “long-lasting relationship.”

Selenny's friends and family are reportedly over the moon for the pair. A source told ET in mid-January that “Selena feels very at home and at ease with Benny.” The source also shared that the couple's friends and family are “all supportive and happy to see what they think could be an amazing and long-lasting relationship between the two of them."

"Benny finds Selena to be brilliant beyond belief," the source continued. “He thinks she is extremely talented, genuine, sweet, and intelligent. January 8, 2024: Gomez and Blanco kiss at the Golden Globes.

Gomez just can't get enough of her boyfriend. After the awards ceremony on January 8, she shared a pic of herself in her red Armani gown kissing Blanco. The two didn't walk the carpet together and we're not 100% sure if she took him as her date, as he doesn't pop up in any of the video footage from the evening (IYKYK), but it looks like they linked up at some point. “I won,” she captioned the photo.

January 3, 2024: Gomez and Blanco show some PDA at a Lakers game.

In Hollywood, a celebrity couple isn't really a couple until they make their debut at an NBA game — we don't make the rules. But Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have hit that time-honored milestone, sharing some extra public PDA courtside.

As noted by ET, the Rare Beauty founder and her producer boyfriend attended the Los Angeles Lakers versus Miami Heat game in L.A. on January 3 and were spotted laughing, holding hands, and cuddling throughout the event. They even appeared on the Jumbotron at one point, which made Gomez laugh. She looked cozy in a black and white jacket, black pants, and silver boots, while Blanco opted for an all-white 'fit with a pink and orange floral jacket. December 15: Gomez feels “safe and secure” with Blanco.

Given that Gomez is one of the biggest stars in the world and one of the most-followed people on Instagram, it was a pretty big deal for her to drop the news of her relationship with Blanco. According to an anonymous source, she did so because she feels assured with the producer.

"She feels so safe and secure with him, so she felt like it was a good time to share how happy she is with her fans," the source told ET. “Benny is a great communicator, is honest and open with Selena, and listens to her. He's respectful, isn't a player, and not in it for the attention or fame. He doesn't care about any of that, and Selena sees that and really trusts him.” (Obviously, as this is from a nameless source, take it at face value.)

December 14: Gomez shares a pic of Blanco on her Instagram grid.

It's not official until you're on the grid! Gomez shared a photo dump of snapshots from a New York trip in December, which Blanco pops up in throughout, ending with a black and white shot of herself and the producer kissing. (Scroll all the way to the final slide to see it.)

Since then, Gomez and Blanco have both posted lots of candid pics and videos of each other on their Instagram Stories. On December 31, Gomez shared a sweet shot of Blanco hugging her from behind and kissing her hair. On January 3, Blanco posted a few adorable pics of his girlfriend smiling and laughing and absolutely glowing.

December 8, 2023: Gomez confirms she and Blanco are in a relationship.

In early December, Gomez confirmed that the two were dating and had been for about six months, going on an Instagram comment spree and calling Blanco “my absolute everything in my heart," “the best thing that's ever happened to me. The end," and “better than anyone I've ever been with."

She also replied to a fan's comment, saying, “If you actually care about me. [sic] This is my happiest. If you don't feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I'm done. If you can't accept me at my happiest, then don't be in y [sic] life at all.” Gomez was also spotted wearing a diamond “B” ring shortly after the announcement.

2019: Gomez and Blanco release a song and music video.

Before they collaborated romantically, the musician and producer collaborated on a song and accompanying video. The video for “I Can't Get Enough" featured Gomez with cameos from J Balvin, Tainy, and Blanco in a teddy bear costume. Blanco also worked on Gomez's fan-favorite album Revival and co-produced her 2023 song “Single Soon.”
