Selena Gomez fangirls and 3 more things to watch for on the WE Day Special 2018 (exclusive trailer)

If you need a good pick-me-up — and who doesn’t these days? — the WE Day Special 2018 is here to help.

Selena Gomez, John Stamos, Jennifer Aniston, and dozens of other celebs gathered to entertain thousands of California students at an April event paying tribute to young people changing the world for the better. Highlights from the day air Aug. 17 on ABC, but the exclusive trailer has just arrived.

Check it out and be sure to look out for these big moments during the special:

1. Selena Gomez bonds with a young friend over kidney disease.

The singer appears onstage alongside Nellie Mainor, a 7-year-old struggling with a rare kidney disease. Mainor provides kids in the hospital struggling with kidney disease with toys and get-well cards. Gomez, of course, revealed in September that she had undergone a kidney transplant. The two shared a sweet encounter that included Gomez asking Mainor, “Do you know how much I admire you?”

2. John Stamos gets emotional about his son, Billy.

The Full House star, who became a father on April 10, shared a heartwarming moment with the crowd of young people making the world a better place. “When I look at you today, I am in awe,” Stamos said. “The compassion and the love and every value that you have … I feel so hopeful for my son.”

3. Will Ferrell gives a presidential pop quiz.

Just one week after surviving a car crash, Will Ferrell, the former Saturday Night Live star, made his first public appearance at WE Day. The comedian, whose famous for his impression of former President George W. Bush, quizzed an expert on the U.S. presidents, 8-year-old Macey Hensley. Ferrell also asked if he could be her secretary of “curly haired people” if she was ever elected to the office.

4. Jennifer Aniston honors March for Our Lives organizers.

Jennifer Aniston appeared alongside Cameron Kasky and Jaclyn Corin, students who survived the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and are now leading the charge for gun control. “Your generation is demanding accountability, and you’re demanding change, and I personally thank you for that,” Aniston told them.

Watch some of your favorite celebs interacting with people making a real difference in the world and just try to stop yourself from thinking about what you can do … or, you know, wiping away happy tears. Not that we would know.

The WE Day Special 2018 airs Aug. 17 at 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. PST on ABC.
