Selena Gomez knows how to make an entrance—at the polls!

While the singer had some major plans on the evening of Monday, Oct. 28, she had to make a pitstop to do her civic duty before carrying on for the night.

In a series of videos and photos uploaded to her Instagram Stories, Gomez was dressed to the nines in a sparkling sequined red dress with a bold neckline and asymmetrical hemline with a thigh-high slit for the premiere of the Disney Channel reboot of Wizards of Waverly Place.

But, with Chappell Roan's "Hot to Go" playing in the background, the Only Murders in the Building star made time to vote before the festivities began.

“On my way to the Wizards premiere,” she sang from the back seat of her car, showing off her sealed ballot in the first video. “We can’t go to the premiere without voting!”

She then darted past a food truck parked along the sidewalk to get to the ballot box, ensuring that her envelope was entirely inside as she emphasized, “Make sure that sucker’s in!” before showing off her clutch adorned with her “I Voted” sticker.

In a follow-up snapshot, she posed against the container, captioning the picture with a simple blue heart emoji.

Pop culture update account Pop Crave reposted the photograph on X, and while some fans felt she was sending a pretty clear message, there was a bit of confusion about whether the upload qualified as an endorsement.

Some took the color of her dress to mean she was voting red, while others pointed out, "The heart is right there." Gomez, 32, did not ever verbally confirm who she was voting for, though she did collaborate with the soon-to-be vice president ahead of the 2020 election to encourage her followers to go vote.
