Selena Gomez Takes Break From Social Media Over The “Horror, Hate, Violence & Terror That’s Going On In The World”
Don’t be looking for Selena Gomez on social media platforms for awhile. The pop star and Only Murders in the Building actor shared in an Instagram story Tuesday that she has been taking a break from social media “because my heart breaks to see all of the horror, hate, violence and terror that’s going on in the world. People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards any one group is horrific. We need to protect ALL people, especially children and stop the violence for good.”
“I’m sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag,” she continued. “I just can’t stand by innocent people getting hurt. That’s what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won’t.” She signs the post “Love, Selena”.

“I struggled with the world inside my head for a long time and I felt lost and I felt hopeless at times,” Gomez told the audience.
Gomez recently announced she was moving her Selena +Chef series, which began on HBO Max during the pandemic, to Food Network with four holiday specials. Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays will launch on the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned network on Thursday, November 30.
