This time, we have Serena Williams sharing her take on the whole thing — which is notable, since it occurred the night Will won an Oscar for playing her father in the biographical sports drama King Richard.

When asked on CBS Mornings how she felt about the moment, Serena said, "I thought it was such an incredible film, and I feel that there was an incredible film after that with Questlove that kind of was overshadowed."

"I also feel that I've been in a position where I've been under a lot of pressure and made a tremendous amount of mistakes," Serena continued. "I'm the kind of person that's like, 'I've been there, I've made a mistake, it's not the end of the world.' We're all imperfect and we're all human, and let's just be kind to each other. And I think that's often forgotten a lot."

Will, for his part, has since apologized for hitting Chris, sharing in a conversation with Trevor Noah that he was “going through something that night.” “Not that that justifies my behavior at all,” he added. But “it was a lot of things.”

"It was the little boy that watched his father beat up his mother, you know," he continued. "All of that just bubbled up in that moment … and that’s not who I want to be.”
