Bring home your own Cookie Monster courtesy of Hasbro's HasLab
C is for cookie, H is for Hasbro and when you put those two letters together, it spells ... a big win for Sesame Street fans. Hasbro is gearing up to launch their second Pulse HasLab Project, which makes dream toys a reality through the power of crowdfunding. The inaugural HasLab campaign attracted nearly 9,000 backers, who funded a lavish reproduction of The Khetanna, aka Jabba’s Sail Barge from Return of the Jedi. Yahoo Entertainment has the exclusive reveal of the next item set for the crowdfunding treatment: a full-sized puppet replica of New York’s cuddliest cookie-chomping creature, Cookie Monster.
HasLab hopes to put the 38-inch tall, eminently poseable Cookie Monster puppet in fans’ hands by 2020. Meeting that dream goal will require a minimum of 3,000 backers, who can head to the official campaign website and pledge $299.99. As soon the funding goal is met, this blue monster will start getting factory ready.
When it ships to you next year, your own personal Cookie Monster will come in retro packaging that includes two original lithographs and a certificate of authenticity. Be prepared to provide your own cookies, though. We recommend chocolate chip.
