Seth Rogen says Emma Watson did not storm off 'This is the End' set: 'It was getting improvised'
Seth Rogen wants to "correct a story" that Emma Watson stormed off the set while filming 2013 movie "This is the End."
The "Pineapple Express" actor revealed during an interview published Friday in British GQ that Watson left the set after refusing to film a scene that featured cannibalism.
On Monday, he clarified what happened.
"Emma Watson did not 'storm off the set' and it's (expletive) that the perception is that she did," he wrote in a post to Twitter.
"The scene was not what was originally scripted, it was getting improvised, changed drastically and was not what she agreed to."
The actor added that Watson was not "uncool" or "unprofessional," that he should have "communicated better" and that he was impressed that the "Harry Potter" actress spoke up about it.
"We agreed on her not being in the scene together. I was thrilled for the opportunity to work with her and would be thrilled to get that opportunity again. I am very sorry and disappointment it happened, and I wish I had done more to prevent it."
In the British GQ article, Rogen said he had "no hard feelings" toward Watson.
“I mean, I don’t look back on that and think, ‘How dare she do that?’ You know," Rogen told the magazine. "I think sometimes when you read something, when it comes to life it doesn’t seem to be what you thought it was."
"This is the End" was written, directed and produced by Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The film takes place in Hollywood during an apocalypse and features a lot of non-family-friendly scenes and many cameos from stars like Rihanna, Michael Cera and Watson, who reached her limit on set.
"She came back the next day to say goodbye. She helped promote the film. No hard feelings and I couldn’t be happier with how the film turned out in the end,” Rogen told British GQ.
He added: “She was probably right. It was probably funnier the way we ended up doing it.”

Watson wasn't the only one with an issue with the movie. In a 2013 interview with USA TODAY, Rogen talked about a concern Sony Studios had with the script. Despite there being scenes with mimed masturbation, a sexually-perverse devil and drug use, Sony had an issue with the actors breaking the fourth wall.
"Almost every time we make a movie, every good movie we've made has had a major concern like this going into it," Rogen said at the time. "In 'Superbad', it was 'Should they be swearing so much, should it be so dirty?' In 'Pineapple Express', it was 'Should there be all this weed?'"
The comedy film maker's new book "Yearbook" comes out this spring. The work will feature funny essays and true stories from Rogen and is expected to release May 11.
