‘Shogun’ and ‘The Bear’ predicted to dominate Creative Arts Emmys

Of the 31 categories that Gold Derby is predicting for this weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys, we expect “Shōgun” and “The Bear” to each win multiple statues. The FX historical drama should walk away with at least five Emmys, including for guest actor Nestor Carbonell, while the same network’s cooking comedy is forecasted to claim at least three trophies, including for stand-out guest performers Jamie Lee Curtis and Jon Bernthal. The fourth guest star winner will be Claire Foy for Netflix’s “The Crown,” per our Experts, Editors and Users. Read on to see all of Gold Derby’s predictions by show.

There are 99 Creative Arts categories total, with 50 being presented on Saturday, September 7 (focusing on animation, reality, variety and nonfiction programming) and the remaining 49 being doled out on Sunday, September 8 (focusing on dramas, comedies, TV movies and limited series). The main Primetime Emmys broadcast will air the following week on ABC on Sunday, September 15, which is where the remaining 25 awards will be handed out.
