With a hotly-contested presidential election going on, Shaboozey thinks we could all use a little “Good News.” So, he’s here to give us a taste of just that.

In a TikTok posted on Monday (Nov. 5), the “Bar Song” singer shared a snippet of his yet-to-be announced new single, in which he looks for some silver linings in dark times. “I need some good news/ Sittin’ here sippin’ on cold truth/ Nobody knows what I’m goin’ through / Bet the devil wouldn’t walk in my shoes,” he croons on the clip.

This isn’t the first time Shaboozey has teased the song — the singer first shared a clip of the track on Friday (Nov. 1). This time around, though, he gave fans some hope that they wouldn’t have to wait long. Responding to a comment directly from a fan saying that the new track was “the song we need” since “America needs a little good news,” Shaboozey simply added, “Agreed. Dropping soon.”

The teaser comes just after Shaboozey officially tied the record for this decade’s longest run at the top of the Hot 100 on Monday (Nov. 4), when “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” scored its 16th week atop the chart. That milestone also ties Shaboozey with Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men; Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber; and Morgan Wallen for the second-longest reigns atop the Hot 100, and puts him only three weeks behind Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ 19-week record with “Old Town Road.”
