Shannen Doherty Reportedly Had Plans To Live In Italy Before Her Death

Shannen Doherty's "Charmed" castmates have unveiled her unfulfilled wishes.

The late actress, best known for her role as Prue Halliwell in the fantasy series, never expected death to come for her as soon as it did. She reportedly made several plans to travel and even relocate to Italy.

Shannen Doherty passed away on July 13 after a years-long battle with cancer. Recently, her doctor and friends have shed light on her final moments and dreams.

Doherty's "Charmed" co-stars, Holly Marie Combs, Brian Krause, and Drew Fuller, addressed her final thoughts and feelings on the "House of Halliwell" rewatch podcast.

During the tribute episode, Combs revealed the late actress "didn't think she was going anywhere anytime soon."

"It sounds terribly cliché until it happens to you, but you always think you have more time, and life changed on a dime," Combs continued, noting Fuller had been in Italy when he received the call about Doherty's declining health.

Referring to her late pal in the present tense, Combs said, "She's definitely laughing at him panicking and getting on a plane for her because that was her dream."

"That was her goal. That was her dream life. Her next trip was going to be to Italy, and she was considering moving to Italy," the actress claimed, per RadarOnline.

The insight into Doherty's final moments continued with Fuller confessing her death blindsided him. He noted she made the impossible seem achievable with her resilient nature.

"She has this incredible ability not to ever be a victim, and you forgot it. When you're in her presence, she's not sick," Fuller declared before sharing more about Doherty's unfulfilled dreams.

"She feels amazing, and she has all these incredible plans, and we're traveling the world, and we're talking about this and that," he continued, "and moving and building a new house in Tennessee and possibly going and building and living in Italy."

Combs chimed in adding, "She was going to outlive us all, and there were many times I firmly believed that. So, when things did take a turn, and it happened very quickly, it was very shocking."

While reflecting on Doherty's final moments, Combs doubled down on her death being "shocking." She understood that she should have been prepared, given the late actress's years-long battle with cancer, but it still stunned her.

Combs stressed she wasn't alone, as Doherty was equally stunned by the sudden decline in her health. "She just wanted to do so much more than her body was able to do," the podcast co-host lamented, adding:

"I don't think I've ever met someone who had such enthusiasm for life. She just wanted to do more and more things and see more and more places. I dare say Rose [McGowan] was actually the most upset."

A week before her "Charmed" castmates' emotional reflection, The Blast reported that Doherty's doctor had finally broken his silence about her final moments. Dr. Lawrence Piro supported the late actress through her battle with cancer.

Piro detailed Doherty's positive attitude while battling the terminal illness, noting she hoped for a cure despite the cancer spreading to her bones. Her belief that she could beat the condition continued even after her health declined.

Recalling their final conversation, Doherty's doctor said, "The conversation was about love and support and caring and still fighting through. She wanted to continue to take treatment and fight through, even though her physical condition had taken a bit of a downturn. And so we did."

Days after her death, The Blast reported that Doherty's wish to be divorced from Kurt Iswarienko had been granted. The late actress had been inches away from ending her marriage when death struck.

The law in California states that the family court loses jurisdiction over a divorce case once a spouse dies. Doherty's case should have been moved to the probate court; however, the judge presiding over her divorce stepped up.

The legal umpire signed her divorce papers, allowing the divorce judgment to be posthumously entered. Simply put, Doherty officially became a single woman shortly after her passing.

Although Shannen Doherty didn't live to witness her divorce or relocate to Italy, she left memories that fans and her loved ones will cherish. Rest in peace, queen.
