Shannon Sharpe Grills Saweetie Over Past Relationship With Quavo
Shannon Sharpe has grilled Saweetie about her past relationship with Quavo.
Sharpe and Chad Johnson questioned the West Coast rapper during a recent live recording of Nightcap. Saweetie took issue with the ex-Denver Broncos athlete after he referred to her as “the one that used to date Quavo.”
“You don’t wanna be referred to as that?” he asked. The “Sway With Me” artist then quickly responded, saying, “Of course not.” She then corrected him with proper identifiers that better represented her career. Shannon then asked her if there was a possibility of her “spinning the block” for Qua. Saweetie was visibly taken aback by the OG’s messy question but continued to play along. “I don’t really spin the block—I don’t have a record of doing that.”
The former football player followed up and asked about the Bentley that the Migos artist gifted her in 2021. After their breakup, the Atlanta native reportedly had the vehicle repossessed. He reportedly resold the car for $270,000. Sharpe wondered about the vehicle, quickly forming a question regarding the situation.
“He was nice, I don’t know what transpired and you don’t have to get into that,” the First Take co-host said. “But how you gon get up off the gift the man gave you? Why would you get rid of the gift?”
“I didn’t wanna get rid of the gift,” the California-based artist shot back. “Now you know what happened. Needless to say, I bought myself the big Cullinan Rolls-Royce, so it don’t even matter.”
After an awkward exchange, Chad Johnson interjected before Shannon described Quavo’s actions as “an Ocho move.” He then referred to his co-host as an “Indian-giver” before quickly changing his mind on the outdated term. Quite the exchange.
Saweetie and Quavo began dating in the Fall of 2018. The couple would then break up in March 2021 after rumors of infidelity and violence plagued the relationship. Around that time, Saweetie took to X/Twitter to declare her new single status.
“I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women,” she typed. “I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation.”
