Sharon Horgan Joins Hulu’s Amanda Knox Limited Series
EXCLUSIVE: Bad Sisters co-creator and star Sharon Horgan has been tapped as a series regular on Hulu’s Amanda, playing Amanda Knox’s mother Edda Mellas opposite Grace Van Patten who stars as Knox.
The limited series is based on the true story of how Amanda Knox was wrongfully convicted for the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher and her 16-year odyssey to set herself free.

Horgan’s Edda Mellas is Amanda Knox’s (Patten) desperate but optimistic mother. Their deep bond is challenged by Amanda’s imprisonment, but Edda’s unwavering love for her daughter propels her as she fights for Amanda’s life.
The series, created by KJ Steinberg, hails from 20th Television in association with The Littlefield Company. Steinberg executive produces alongside Warren Littlefield, Lisa Harrison, Ann Johnson, & Graham Littlefield for The Littlefield Company; Monica Lewinsky via Alt Ending Productions; and Amanda Knox & Chris Robinson of Knox Robinson Productions.
Horgan has co-created and starred in such series as Pulling, Catastrophe and most recently Bad Sisters, which is headed into its second season on Apple TV+. She received Emmy nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Catastrophe) and for Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series (Bad Sisters). Horgan is repped by WME, United Agents and Nelson Davis.
