Shaun White and Nina Dobrev Take Pup Maverick on a Jet Ski Adventure

Two of our favorite pet parents are Olympic snowboarder Shaun White and his partner actress Nina Dobrev. They share a beautiful Border Collie named Maverick and they are always taking their sweet dog on so many fun outings.

Just check out Maverick on a jet ski.

The post was shared by Maverick's Instagram account at @mrsMaverick and the cute description reads, "I prefer land. But thank you for this unnecessary experience."

The couple has been doing all sorts of fun things for the week of Shaun White's 38th birthday like having a western themed celebration in Montana.

The couple sadly announced in August that White's beloved French Bulldog named Steve had passed away at the age of 13. White posted at the time, "With a heavy heart I wanted to let everyone know that Steve’s health took a turn for the worse recently and he passed away peacefully at the age of almost 13. I’m absolutely devastated by this loss."

It's so sweet to see this beautiful couple enjoying happier times with Maverick on the water. if you plan on getting out there with your own pup before the weather turns too chilly, here are some things to keep in mind.

If you decide to take your own fur baby out for some fun on a lake, either in a boat or a jet ski or just out swimming, here are some tips to help keep them safe.

Your dog should know how to swim. You can either teach him or sign him up for classes. It's also important that your dog know recall commands so your dog comes back to you immediately when called.

When taking him out on a boat or jet ski or raft, make sure he wears a canine life vest. Even dogs that are strong swimmers can get tired or get caught in currents, and it's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to our fur babies.

Keep a close eye on your dog whenever they are near or in the water. Always be ready to help them if they swim too far, struggle, or get tired. Make sure they stay within a safe distance from shore or the boat and they are within shouting distance.

Check the conditions of the water before you take your pup out on it to make sure it isn't too choppy or the water temperature isn't too cold, and make sure do wash your dog off with clean water after they swim in the ocean or a lake.
