Shawn Levy Says He Would Love To Make a Deadpool & Spider-Man Movie
It has taken a little over eight years to bring Ryan Reynold's Deadpool to the MCU, but it's finally happening this summer. Naturally, one of the potential crossovers that fans are most excited about is seeing Deadpool and Spider-Man share the screen. Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy is one of those fans, and he would proudly jump at the opportunity to direct the same.
In the latest issue of Total Film, as reported by GamesRadar, Levy talked about how a potential Deadpool/Spider-Man crossover would work.
"The thing about Deadpool is I think he makes everything more interesting because of his audacity," he said. "But, boy, I'd sure love to see Deadpool and Spidey. That's a movie I'd love to make. I feel like Tom Holland would run circles around everyone else."
It looks like the third Deadpool film will mostly take place in the Void, a dimension where the TVA sends "pruned" objects and people. While its trailers have featured plenty of MCU easter eggs, such as Ant-Man's corpse and multiple mutants, don't expect Tom Holland's Spider-Man to appear in the film.
Comic book fans know how raunchy Wade Wilson and Peter Parker's relationship can get, so it would be a treat to see them on the big screen together. However, as Sony holds the rights to Spider-Man's MCU appearances, don't count on it happening any time soon.
While Levy may have expressed interest in this crossover, it seems Marvel Studios has other plans for the director. The studio has reportedly approached Levy to direct Avengers 5, where he may find a way to squeeze these characters into a scene together anyway.
