The Cajun Cruiser may have just hit the streets, but its two co-owners have already hit a massive speed bump on their road to success.

In Wednesday’s Shrinking, Liz sold her share of the food truck to Sean’s dad after overhearing a touching conversation between father and son. However, she failed to take their family baggage into consideration, and neglected to check in with Sean to see how he felt about the idea. “Are you insane?” he seethed. “Do you know how much s–t I have with my dad?” She offered to undo the damage she caused, but Sean countered that his dad would then know he didn’t want to work with him. “F–k you, Liz” were Sean’s livid parting words to his friend. (Ouch.)

“Liz thinks she’s doing something good for Sean when she sells her part of the truck to his dad, not really knowing the dynamics there,” Christa Miller tells TVLine. “I think her intentions were totally pure. I think that’s why it was sad that she overheard them. She thinks she’s doing a good thing, although you probably shouldn’t do those things without talking to people first. I think she thought it would be a big surprise [but] that sort of situation can go either way.”

Unlike his character, Luke Tennie is able to see the positive in the friends’ argument.

“That’s what we’re exploring this season. ‘What happens when we are so certain that we’re doing the right thing?'” he says. “To be fair, I think you can look at what Liz did as the right thing because it forces Sean to deal with the things he’s been avoiding. Now, that wasn’t necessarily her job, but that is the purpose of a friend’s involvement in your life, in my opinion. So I think that for Sean and Liz, for them to go through that will definitely strengthen their relationship, but it’s a hard watch for sure.”

While the food truck fiasco is unquestionably a rough patch for the unlikely duo, Liz did give him one of her treasured rocks, a little tidbit we’ll cherish until these two (fingers crossed!) mend fences.

“She’s a particular lady and I think there’s a simplicity to Sean that she appreciates,” adds Tennie. “And for Sean, I think he can identify that there are a bunch of different kinds of people in this world and all of Liz’s ‘isms’ don’t detract from the fact that she is one of the most loving people on the whole show. So he’s grateful to be working with her and just to be around her.”
