Though Bravo added a new housewife to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 cast, she feels more like a ghost following around the rest of the women. Annemarie Wiley was supposed to be the addition that the ladies of the 90210 desperately needed. But instead, the newbie is coming off as a “friend of.” It is clear that Annemarie is not used to playing the role of a sidekick, but has Bravo edited out Annemarie Wiley? Some fans suspect Bravo made some changes to the season in post and decreased Annemarie’s screen time.

There are already signs that Annemarie will become the next Denise Richards, popping up to dinners and lunch, stirring the pot, drinking a little, and then dipping out. Annemarie hasn’t won over many fans, especially after she gaslit Crystal Kung Minkoff about not mentioning an eating disorder. I think Bravo just made a mistake when hiring Annemarie. While she might have wowed on the casting tape, she is flopping in real life and picking the battle of the esophagus as the hill she wants to die on.

Has Annemarie Lost Her Diamond?

Since RHOBH Season 13 started, there have been a few conspiracy theories regarding the reasoning behind Annemarie not being shown enough. Fans are theorizing that Annemarie wasn’t featured as much because the network took away her full-time status. I mean, her whole storyline right now centers around Sutton Stracke‘s esophagus. Annemarie doesn’t seem afraid of a little confrontation, which could have made for some spicy moments in the franchise. Instead, we are stuck watching the rookie go on and on about Sutton might be lying about her stomach issues.

It’s generally not a good sign when a housewife has such limited storylines. It would be a surprise that Bravo cast Annemarie without a plan for what her storylines would be. Naturally, this has led some fans to speculate that perhaps Annemarie did have other storylines that were ultimately cut from Season 13. In some ways, Bravo retroactively limiting Annemarie’s role in Season 13 makes more sense than the network not knowing what to do with her in the first place. But why would Bravo feel the need to downplay Annemarie?

Marcellus Wiley Is a Major PR Headache

*TRIGGER WARNING: sexual assault discussed below*

There is one major reason Annemarie could have been edited out; sadly, it comes back to her husband. In a new lawsuit, Marcellus Wiley has been accused of raping a woman back in 1994. The Post reported that a student who also attended Columbia University at the same time as Marcellus 30 years ago had sued him in a New York Supreme Court under the Adult Survivors Act. The victim alleges that the former NFL star attacked her when he was a sophomore and star of the football team.

The documents state that Marcellus allegedly forced himself onto her while hanging out in a freshman dorm room. The woman claims that Annemarie’s husband ignored her verbal pleas. The documents state that the woman was a virgin at the time, and that Marcellus laughed off her concerns, saying, “Ain’t nobody tryna have sex with no virgin! Don’t worry, I got you. Just coming to hang out while I eat. I don’t even have condoms on me.” The woman alleges that Marcellus “forced her face down onto the mattress” and sexually assaulted her several times.

Damage Control

It could very well be that Bravo is doing some major damage control. While the sentiment is always you are innocent until proven guilty, the network can’t risk giving Marcellus or Annemarie too much screen time. Bravo has been accused of ignoring serious allegations about their male stars over the years. Now it seems Bravo has been making moves to shed that bad reputation. After Scandoval, when Rachel Leviss claimed no one would listen to her, Bravo is clearly trying to take these types of allegations more seriously. Though Marcellus’ lawsuit is still pending, Bravo may be trying to hedge their bets and edit out Annemarie just in case.

Annemarie Isn’t Housewife Material

With every weekly episode that goes by, it does feel as if Annemarie has been cut back. Bravo had already marketed her as a housewife by giving her a tagline. It would be odd to remove her from the opening partway through the season. So, cutting her scenes is the next best thing. It could also be that she isn’t giving producers what they want.

No one wants to watch Annemarie in her fancy home complaining about feeding her children Frosted Flakes and hearing how she is okay that her husband thinks she is an 8.5 in everything, including her looks. Bravo created a classic case of an avoidance storyline. I think it is safe to say we won’t be seeing Annemarie back for a sophomore season.
