Sigourney Weaver Might Be In the Mandalorian Film
The upcoming Mandalorian film, strangely titled The Mandalorian & Grogu, is one of the most anticipated Star Wars projects in production, and it may just have sci-fi royalty involved.
THR is reporting that Sigourney Weaver, of Alien fame, is currently in talks to join The Mandalorian & Grogu. No role has been listed for Weaver’s potential appearance, but it’s safe to assume that any movie starring Sigourney Weaver is probably going to put her in a pretty big role.
Pedro Pascal is said to be returning in the leading role as Din Djarin, with The Puppet That Plays Grogu presumably returning as Grogu, better known as Baby Yoda. It’s rumored that the film will act as a finale to the series, but official details have yet to be confirmed.
It could be a while before The Mandalorian & Grogu starts production, though, as Pedro Pascal is a very busy man. He’s about to start shooting on The Fantastic Four, as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he’ll be portraying Mister Fantastic, the stretchy leading man.
He’s also appearing in A24 film Eddington, written and directed by Ari Aster, and romantic comedy Materialists from Celine Song. And that’s just film — on the TV side, Pascal still has The Last of Us season 2 to go, although if the game is anything to go by, it might not be quite as intensive for him as the first season.
Lucasfilm announced the Mandalorian movie starring Grogu back in January, with creator John Favreau set to direct the film, and Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Kathleen Kennedy acting as producers.
The Mandalorian & Grogu was given a release date last month, too, with the film set to be released on May 22, 2026. In the meantime, there’s plenty of Star Wars coming, like the upcoming The Acolyte, which we saw a breathtaking trailer for earlier this month.
