Silo Season 2 Trailer Teases Juliette’s Visor-Smashing Crisis (and What Bernard Is Most Afraid Of)
We’re heading back into the Silo — actually, at least two silos — in November.
Season 2 of the Rebecca Ferguson-led adaptation of Hugh Howey’s bestselling Wool, Shift and Dust trilogy will premiere Friday, Nov. 15, with its first episode of 10 (followed by weekly releases through Jan. 17, 2025).

“There are two stories running this season,” showrunner Graham Yost told TVLine as part of our Fall Preview Spectacular. “There’s Juliette’s story, and then there’s back in her home silo,” where the brilliantly bested Bernard won’t fly off the rails but instead “understands the problem” at hand.
Meaning…? “In the second episode, there’s a line, ‘In the event of a failed cleaning, prepare for war,’” Yost warns.
Steve Zahn (The White Lotus Season 1, The Righteous Gemstones) is among the cast additions for Season 2, as Solo, a key character from the back half of the first book in Howey’s trilogy.
Silo in Season 1 centered on the last 10,000 people on Earth. The twist? They live in a mile-deep silo that is protecting them from a toxic world outside. Ferguson stars as Juliette Nichols, an engineer-turned-sheriff who aims to unravel the mystery behind the underground civilization.
Silo Season 1 covered not even half of Howey’s first book, Wool. (Howey’s first, self-published take on the Silo world represents only the first 48 pages of Wool; the other 500 pages, starting with Juliette’s introduction, were added when the initial novella was met with great success.) Meaning, there is much in Wool (including Zahn’s Solo character) left to be explored.
Significant portions of the second novel, Shift, meanwhile are set hundreds of years prior, back when the W.O.O.L. (World Order Operation Fifty) project that begat the silos first took shape.
Given how Season 1 ended, what Juliette does in Season 2 promises to have repercussions for “not one person,” star and EP Ferguson told TVLine, but “an entire human race.” In other words, “The stakes are ridonkulously high.”
When TVLine spoke to Ferguson in June 2023, we asked what Juliette’s story might look like in Season 2, and she said, “We’re trying to stick as close to the book as possible, but we also have certain reasons to change certain things, which will make sense when you see it.”
In addition to Ferguson and Zahn, the Season 2 cast brings back Tim Robbins (as Bernard), Common (as Sims), Harriet Walter (as Martha), Chinaza Uche (as Billings), Avi Nash (as Lukas), Alexandria Riley (as Camille Sims), Shane McCrae (as Knox), Remmie Milner (as Shirley), Clare Perkins (as Carla), Billy Postlethwaite (as Hank), Rick Gomez (as Kennedy), Caitlin Zoz (as Kathleen), Tanya Moodie (as Judge Meadows) and Iain Glen (as Dr. Nichols).
