'Simpsons' star Hank Azaria brings Bruce Springsteen show to Stone Pony in Asbury Park

Hank Azaria and the EZ Street Band are coming to Little Eden.

Azaria's Springsteen tribute show will make its debut at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Friday, Nov. 15. Presale tickets are available at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14. Prices have not been released but the presale code is “PONY.”

Azaria is perhaps best known for his work on “The Simpsons,” where he voices Moe the Bartender, Police Chief Wiggum, Comic Book Guy and more. His movie roles include “The Birdcage,” “Along Came Polly” and “Night at the Museum.” TV credits include “Friends” and “Ray Donovan.”

He got a hankering to sing like Springsteen for his 60th birthday party.

“I think of it as a theatrical performance,” said Azaria to Rolling Stone. “I’m staying in character as Bruce even though I’m telling stories about myself. It’s a performance piece, but I’m not a Bruce impersonator.”

More upcoming shows include Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Brooklyn Bowl in Philadelphia, and Friday, Nov. 8, at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn.

“I can't think of a better way to spend my time and use my passion for voices than playing these songs for a crowd that loves them, and to lovingly pay tribute to Bruce, while raising money for folks who need it,” said Azaria in as statement.
