‘Sinners’ trailer: Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler reteam for horror thriller [Watch]
Thirty-five years after Warner Bros. danced with the devil in the pale moonlight, the studio has added another satanic statement to its storied history courtesy of Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan: “If you keep dancing with the devil, one day he’s going to follow you home.”
That’s the key theme espoused by the first trailer for “Sinners,” Coogler’s first film since “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and his latest collaboration with Jordan following “Fruitvale Station,” “Creed,” and the “Black Panther” films.

Set in the 1930s Jim Crow South, “Sinners” is a supernatural horror thriller where a mysterious terror menaces a small town and its residents – particularly twin brothers (both played by Jordan). Here’s the official synopsis, provided by Warner Bros.:
Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
The logline does not mention the specifics of the threat. Still, earlier trade reports about the film – back when it was being shopped around Hollywood before Warner Bros. swooped in with a lucrative distribution deal – suggested the project might be about vampires.
Jordan stars in the dual lead roles, with Delroy Lindo, Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, and Jayme Lawson among the film’s costars. “Sinners” also reunites Coogler with several of his past collaborators, including Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter (“Black Panther,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”), Oscar-winning production designer Hannah Beachler (“Black Panther”), Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Goransson (“Black Panther,” “Oppenheimer”), cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”), and editor Michael P. Shawver (“Fruitvale Station,” “Creed,” “Black Panther,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”).
Warner Bros. will release “Sinners” on March 7, 2025 – and the promo makes specific mention of how Coogler used IMAX cameras to capture his vision. The film is one of many major auteur releases Warner Bros. has lined up in 2025, including Bong Joon-ho’s “Mickey 17,” Joseph Kosinski’s “F1,” and Paul Thomas Anderson’s untitled drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio. All are expected to play on large-format screens and each could factor into the 2026 Oscars race.
