Sir Ben Kingsley Dominates ‘Lip Sync Battle’ With Elton John Performance
Sir Ben Kingsley graced Lip Sync Battle with his presence on Wednesday evening. The Academy Award-winning actor transformed himself into fellow knight Elton John to take home the belt and title of Lip Sync Battle Champ.
Kingsley competed against John Cho, who picked the song “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi for his main performance. While Cho did a fine job as a cowboy singer, he didn’t quite have the je ne se quoi that courses through Kingsley’s veins.
Kingsley’s performance of “Rocket Man” by Elton John earned him the coveted belt. Kingsley was touched by the entire experience, saying: “I just adore American enthusiasm. There’s nothing like it in the world. And to just float on this fantastic atmosphere of goodwill and alcohol is amazing.”
Lip Sync Battle airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m./8 p.m. CT on Spike.
