In 2016, Reynolds told E! News that "There's nothing on earth more grounding than having a baby. It's the best thing that could ever happen to someone."

In 2015, Reynolds appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and had nothing but wonderful things to say about his first daughter, James. "'I would take a bullet for you.
