Slovakian Woman Goes From Singing With Macklemore to Behind Bars in Bizarre Turn of Events
One fan’s sweet moment at a Macklemore concert in Slovakia quickly turned sour last week as a woman who joined the rapper onstage was arrested soon after on an outstanding warrant.
The incident occurred this past weekend at Bratislava’s Lovestream Festival, where Macklemore was among the performers. During the gig, Macklemore invited a 24-year-old woman named Samantha onstage to sing alongside him on “Downtown.”

However, according to the Slovak Republic Police, another festival-goer also recognized Samantha from a Slovakian website dedicated to finding fugitives from the law.
“The woman immortalized this experience and boasted it on a social network, which did not escape the attention of an observant citizen,” the Slovak Republic Police wrote in a translated post on Facebook. “He recognized the woman and found out that he had just seen her on the above-mentioned website and informed the police immediately.”
After the onstage duet, police — at this point notified of Samantha’s outstanding warrant — swooped in to detain her backstage. She was “subsequently escorted to the premises of the institution for the execution of the prison sentence.”
Neither the charges Samantha was facing nor the length of her prison sentence were revealed by police. However, local media reported that Samantha’s legal issues stemmed from an unpaid 800 euro fine for disorderly conduct that she incurred after she stripped down to her bra and went streaking on the field during a Slovakian soccer game back in 2019.
Due to the unpaid fine, the court ordered Samantha to serve jail time, which she avoided for five years until she decided to hop onstage with Macklemore.
