SmackDown Matches That Should Be On WWE Bad Blood
WWE Bad Blood goes down live at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 5. Three matches have been confirmed so far with more likely to be announced in the weeks leading up to the PLE.
Here’s the current match card for Bad Blood 2024.
Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley – Women’s World Championship
Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest – Singles match
CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre – Hell in a Cell
Fans may have noticed that the current WWE Bad Blood lineup doesn’t feature any SmackDown matches. That may change with tonight’s season premiere of SmackDown on the USA Network.
Nia Jax vs. Bayley vs. Tiffany Stratton for the women’s title at WWE Bad Blood
Bayley has been trying to reclaim the WWE Women’s Championship ever since she lost it to Nia Jax at SummerSlam 2024. The Role Model went through Nia’s supposed sidekick, Tiffany Stratton, on 9/6 SmackDown. All three women are advertised for SmackDown’s season premiere on the USA Network.
WWE has the opportunity to create an interesting match-up involving the three women. Given Nia’s history with Bayley and her paranoia involving Tiffie’s briefcase, a three-way dance seems both inevitable and logical. Assuming Bayley gets her rematch for the title, Nia could simply ask GM Aldis to insert Tiffany into the match just to play it safe.
As for who should walk out with the title at WWE Bad Blood, I’ll let you be the judge of that.
Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill vs. Damage CTRL – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
The women’s tag team titles have changed hands multiple times during these past few months. The Unholy Union won the belts at WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland. They would drop it back to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at Bash in Berlin. The champions would retain their titles in a rematch on 9/9 RAW.
The same episode featured a backstage interaction between the champions and supposed next challengers Damage CTRL (IYO SKY and Kairi Sane). Hopefully, Kairi Sane will get fully healed from her eye injury by the time WWE Bad Blood hits our screens because this match absolutely needs to happen on a PLE.
LA Knight should defend his title at WWE Bad Blood
LA Knight’s last PLE appearance was at SummerSlam 2024. The Megastar defeated Logan Paul in an absolute banger of a match for the United States title that night. Knight has since brought back the weekly US title open challenge. His most recent title defense came against Ludwig Kaiser on 8/30 SmackDown in Berlin.
Knight’s next opponent will be determined in a match between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes tonight on SmackDown. Andrade has been excellent thus far, but Melo needs this win more than El Idolo to capitalize on his heel momentum. These two men have had some brilliant one-on-one matches ever since they first went at it on 7/19 Friday Night SmackDown.
It’s worth mentioning that Carmelo Hayes has yet to have his singles outing on a main roster PLE. His last PLE performance was in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match back in July. Triple H should book Melo versus Knight for the US title at WWE Bad Blood, which doesn’t feature a mid-card title match (at the time of this writing).
Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns vs. The Bloodline
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are both advertised for tonight’s season premiere of SmackDown on the USA Network. The American Nightmare will kick off the show by putting his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Solo Sikoa inside a steel cage. This match won’t be without outside interference. Maybe Reigns will show up to once again help Rhodes retain his title, who knows?
Assuming Reigns interferes in the match to once again cost Solo the title, this ending could plant the seeds for a tag team match featuring Rhodes, Reigns and The Bloodline (Solo and Fatu) at WWE Bad Blood — giving us a prelude to the inevitable clash between the Only Tribal Chief that matters and the Samoan Werewolf.
