Will Smith made a blockbuster cameo at Coachella!
On Sunday, April 14, the 55-year-old actor surprised fans by joining J Balvin onstage at the music festival dressed in character as Agent J from Men in Black as he performed his song of the same title from the hit 1997 film.
Smith popped up in the middle of Balvin’s UFO-themed set from the bottom of the stage wearing a black suit and shades as he shouted at the crowd, “Coachella!” before the track began.
The Bad Boys star proceeded to rap the lyrics to the hit song as Balvin, 38, stood beside him center stage. As the track reached the iconic dance breakdown, the pair performed the steps in unison together, along with the backing dancers who were also dressed as agents and aliens.
A video of the performance posted on X (formerly Twitter) revealed the fun finale, which featured Balvin being dragged offstage by dancers as Smith whipped out a memory-wiping 'Neuralyzer' from the film and flashed the crowd with it.
Balvin soon returned however as he performed an energetic version of his hit song “In Da Ghetto” with his dancers, per Variety.
Meanwhile, Smith received support from his family in the crowd. The Independence Day actor's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and son, Jaden Smith, were both in the crowd cheering him on. Jada even shared a clip of herself singing along to the chorus from the song on her Instagram Stories.
Willow Smith was also on hand — but, like her dad, the 23-year-old joined Balvin onstage for a performance of her song "Big Feelings," which her proud mom also shared a clip from on her Stories.
Smith’s appearance as Men in Black ‘s Agent J onstage comes as the actor returns on the big screen as another one of his beloved characters this summer as detective Mike Lowrey in the upcoming film Bad Boys 4.
Smith reunites with costar Martin Lawrence for the action sequel, set for release on June 7, 2024, as Miami-based detective duo Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, following the films Bad Boys (1995), Bad Boys II (2003) and Bad Boys for Life (2020).
The upcoming film is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah and also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Nú?ez and Jacob Scipio. Tasha Smith also joins the cast, taking over the role of Theresa Burnett, along with Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd and Rhea Seehorn.

In March, Smith reflected on his time making the movie in an Instagram post after wrapping up filming the project earlier that month.
“WRAPPED! Nothin’ but Magic every time I’m with my guy. See y’all June 7 for @BADBOYS 4!!,” Smith wrote in the caption as he shared a photo of himself and Lawrence, 58, standing together near the Centennial Wheel at Chicago’s Navy Pier.
