Will Smith seems to poke fun at Chris Rock Oscars slap controversy in TikTok
Will Smith appears to be poking fun at his 2022 Oscars controversy on TikTok.
In a video posted Monday to the social media app, Smith seemed to make a joke about the controversy he stirred at the 2022 ceremony, in which he jumped on stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock, who made a joke about Smith's wife Jada Pinkett-Smith's alopecia.
Smith's TikTok video, which has over 1.5 million views as of Tuesday, sees the actor listening with intrigue to TikTok user @missmoneyworking in another video explaining that inanimate objects can tell you what they think of you.
"It sounds insane, but it will change your life, and by change your life, I mean it will make your life so much more interesting and fun," says the other TikToker. "Did you know that you can pick any object, look at it and ask it what it thinks of you? So, for example, you can pick up a pen and ask it how it sees you or what it thinks of you, and you will get an answer in your mind from your intuition. You can ask your car what it thinks of you. You can even ask money what it thinks of you."
Smith, with a quizzical look, then picks up his best actor Oscar trophy from off camera and gives it a concerning look.
In July 2022, Smith released a YouTube video titled "It's Been A Minute" addressing some of the common questions people asked after the slap, including why he didn't apologize to Rock during his acceptance speech.

"I was fogged out by that point. It's all fuzzy. I've reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he's not ready to talk, and when he is he will reach out," Smith said. "So I will say to you, Chris, I apologize to you."
Nearly two weeks after the Oscars and a week after Smith formally resigned from the Academy after his actions, the Board of Governors for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences banned Smith from Academy events, including the Oscars, for 10 years.
