‘SNL’: Alec Baldwin Ends War On Christmas As Omarosa Begs Forgiveness

UPDATE with video Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump paid an early Christmas visit to NBC’s Saturday Night Live tonight, overseeing holiday festivities Leslie Jones’ Omarosa begging for an invite and Scarlett Johansson’s Ivanka pondering a life in hell.

Tonight’s SNL cold open had Baldwin and Cecily Strong as Melania greeting the country with an unambivalent Merry Christmas. “You can finally say it again because the War on Christmas is over,” said Baldwin’s Trump. “Soon to be replaced with the War on North Korea.”

And for the New Year? A Trump promise to be “super-presidential, until Don Lemon says something mean about me and I tweet the actual N-word.”

Take a look at the cold open above.

The holiday greeting set-up provided a tidy showcase for SNL‘s roster of impressions, each character bringing an ornament graced with a Trump foe to decorate the Oval Office tree of shame: Kate McKinnon’s Kellyanne Conway hung James Comey (but what she really wants for Christmas is…out), Aidy Bryant’s Sarah Huckabee Sanders brought Sean Spicer and Anthony Scaramucci balls, Beck Bennett as Mike Pence had Mike Flynn (and refused to sing “Deck the Halls” because of the “gay apparel” mention), and Johansson’s Ivanka put Roy Moore on the tannenbaum (a special place in hell, she said, “and we’re all there”).

Mikey Day and Alex Moffat arrived as the Trump boys (“I made a macaroni star,” bragged Erik), and McKinnon did double-duty as a tiny Elf on the Shelf Jeff Sessions (“I’m a mischievous little mongoose”).

But Jones’ Omarosa was the sketch’s sharpest point, fighting off Secret Service, blasting the “For the Love of Money” Apprentice theme from her boom box and screaming “Take me back, I’ll always love you.”

“She’s a tough cookie,” said a panicked Trump to Melania. “I think we’ll have to move.”

Tonight’s episode, hosted by Kevin Hart with musical guest Foo Fighters, is the final original SNL until the show returns January 13 with host Sam Rockwell and musical guest Halsey.
