SNL’s Bowen Yang Jumps on Suits Bandwagon in First Promo for Delayed Season 49 (WATCH)
No one was left unscathed by the Summer 2023 phenomenon that was Suits — and that includes Bowen Yang.
NBC on Wednesday dropped the first promo for Saturday Night Live‘s delayed Season 49 premiere (airing this weekend) and it features cast members Bowen Yang and Chloe Fineman discussing how they spent their writers strike-prolonged hiatus.

“I watched all of Suits,” Yang shares in the above clip, before confessing, “I don’t know what it’s about.” (Based on Fineman’s dismissive reaction, she wasn’t even aware the show existed.)
The spot is then crashed by SNL alum (and Saturday’s host) Pete Davidson, who reveals how he came to headline the Season 49’s opener (hint: he had a short commute).
As we reported, SNL is bringing its full cast back for Season 49, and adding one new face — Chloe Troast — to the mix. (Get acquainted with Troast here.)
Additionally, James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman — both of whom made their debuts during Season 47 — have been bumped up to Repertory Player status for Season 49.
As a reminder, SNL is returning with the full blessing of SAG-AFTRA, whose members are currently on strike.
“Our members appearing on Saturday Night Live either as hosts, guests, or cast members are working under the Network Code agreement, which is not a contract we are striking,” the union said in a statement. “They are not in violation of SAG-AFTRA strike rules, and we support them in fulfilling their contractual obligations.”
