Bowen Yang is giving insight into the Saturday Night Live episode hosted by Sydney Sweeney and all the jokes about her physical appearance.

The NBC sketch show received a lot of backlash after the episode aired as many said it relied too heavily on Sweeney’s body for humor.

In an appearance on the Fly on the Wall podcast, Yang said that Sweeney was “an example of a host who came in and understood how she was being consumed and perceived already.”

“She came in and was like, ‘Please, everyone, make jokes about my boobs,'” he added. “She was practically begging everybody.”

The Euphoria star had previously addressed her SNL appearance saying she was in on the joke.

“There’s so many people out there who are like, ‘Oh, she’s famous because she showed her boobs,'” she told GQ. “You just learn the system. You can try and fight it but they just fight back. Even if you stand up for yourself, people are going to attack you for standing up for yourself.”

Sweeney made her debut as a guest host on SNL earlier this year, in March. One of the sketches of the night featured Sweeney as a Hooters server. Sweeney finds success as a waitress, raking in vast amounts of tips despite not being the best server. The reason why Sweeney’s character gets a lot of tips is that the clientele is mesmerized by her physical appearance, making them break their sobriety and tip her despite having been laid off from work.
