SNL Host Bill Burr Offers Post-Trump Advice to Female Candidates: ‘You’ve Got to Whore It Up a Little’ — Watch
Bill Burr wasn’t about to ignore the elephant in the room on Saturday Night Live.
The stand-up comic tackled the results of this week’s presidential election, with Donald Trump winning decisively over Kamala Harris, in his SNL monologue. “Nice to be here on such a fun week,” he laughed, promising to “keep it light” and venturing a few non-political jokes before switching to “what you all want to talk about.” He teased the women in the audience: “Alright ladies, you’re 0 and 2 against this guy.” He had a few fashion pointers for female political candidates, too: “Enough with the pantsuit. It’s not working. Stop trying to have respect for yourselves.”

He encouraged them instead to, um, lean into their femininity: “You’ve got to whore it up a little,” he said, which to him means “halfway between Applebee’s and ‘your dad didn’t stick around.'” He knows that “ugly women… feminists, I mean” won’t like this advice, but he insisted: “Make a farmer feel like he’s got a shot. Swing a state over a little bit.”
Burr is grateful the election is finally over, he said: “Everyone knew who they were voting for four years ago.” He mocked anyone who was still undecided while watching the debate between the “orange bigot” and “the real estate agent who speaks through her nose.” But he thinks Trump clinched the win when he survived an assassination attempt on the campaign trail: “When I was a kid, if you were running for president and you got shot and didn’t die, that was the end of the election. There was nothing you could say.” He also shared how much he enjoyed Trump’s stint working at McDonald’s: “That’s the only time I’ve ever seen that guy truly happy,” comparing it to when the Grinch from Dr. Seuss brought the toys back “and his heart got a little bigger.”
The Trump-Harris race has been a frequent target for SNL this season, with former cast member Maya Rudolph returning to reprise her Kamala Harris impersonation. SNL alum Dana Carvey popped in as well to play President Biden, with Andy Samberg as Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff and Jim Gaffigan as Harris’ running mate Tim Walz. Harris actually dropped by SNL herself last week for a sketch with Rudolph, leading NBC to later hand Trump equal time by airing 90 seconds of his campaign ads for free during its NASCAR and NFL coverage.
