‘SNL’ Takes On TikTok Trends & Trad Wives With Billie Eilish, More Guest Stars
Saturday Night Live‘s latest episode is shooting fireworks at TikTok stars and trad wives in a sketch that featured multiple guest appearances.
The vertical rectangle in the shape of an iPhone opens the sketch and reveals an iMessage conversation between a couple; one urges the other to get going because time is running out. The one who is tardy to the party apologizes for the delay and promises to head over. However, TikTok makes sure more time is wasted.

The late partner continues scrolling through endless content like cute dogs and cats, fitness girl who is simultaneously pumping up her followers and trying to sell them product, the foodie who stops at random restaurants offering their honest review—played by Kenan Thompson—and, of course, trad wives, a la Nara Smith.
“My husband asked for beef tacos and I didn’t want to let him down; so I slaughtered our cow and picked the corn myself,” said Heidi Gardner while portraying a traditional wife in their infamous TikTok style post with a voiceover taking center stage as a beautifully dressed woman makes her man a meal from scratch without breaking a sweat.
Not forgetting that voting day is just around the corner, Bowen Yang appeared as a terrible singer who goes around town serenading political adversaries, Kamala Harris (Maya Rudolph) and Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson), who can finally agree on one thing, Yang can’t sing to save his life.
Although tonight’s host Michael Keaton doesn’t make an appearance, musical guest Billie Eilish comes face to face with a singing Yang. To shut him up, she hands him $10k and asks him to stop following her.
Back to the iMessaging couple, Mrs/Mr. Tardy still hasn’t left home though their partner attempts one final push. He doesn’t bolt out the front door, however, he goes right back to TikTok. And before you know it, it’s revealed that Tardy-pants has missed the birth of their son. Bloop.
It’s a shame they didn’t have Goose Wayne in the house.
