Snoop pushed his button multiple times during the season premiere, and the following three artists picked him as their coach: Jake Tankersley (age 31 from Sand Springs, Oklahoma), Torre Blake (age 30 from Austin, Texas) and ChrisDeo (age 16 from Queens, New York). The new coach will continue adding to his team throughout the rest of the blind auditions, which are scheduled to air on NBC through mid-October.
The popular rapper and producer is no stranger to “The Voice.” He previously served as a mega mentor for all of the coaches in Season 20. Snoop also performed during that year’s finale with DJ Battlecat, and prior to that he sang a duet with then-coach Pharrell Williams during Season 8 of the long-running reality TV show.
“Snoop and ‘The Voice’? Perfect combo,” he stated in his introduction package during the Season 26 premiere. “While they’re blowing all that smoke over there, I’m telling you the truth. The best coach is the D-O-double-G.” The show refers to Snoop as “The Wildcard,” and the other coaches get fun nicknames, too: Reba is “The Queen,” Gwen is “The Vet” and Michael is “The Rookie.”
On X, the @SnoopDog account re-posted two positive comments from fans. “Snoop is such a good addition to the coach lineup,” wrote Jada. And BigMama declared, “Omg Snoop on ‘The Voice’ is the best.” Now it’s YOUR turn to sound off on Snoop’s coaching style. Get started right now!
