Soccer Phenom Cavan Sullivan to Be Ambassador for Aéropostale
Cavan Sullivan is a phenom.
The 15-year-old is already a professional soccer player — a midfielder for the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer. And in three years, when he turns 18, his contract — which is reportedly worth $500,000 a year — has a clause that calls for him to be transferred to Manchester City.

On the sponsorship front, he’s an ambassador for Adidas and Raising Cane’s, a fast-food chicken fingers restaurant chain. And now, Sullivan will become an ambassador for Aéropostale as well.
The retail chain, owned by SPARC Group, a joint venture between Authentic Brands Group, Simon Property Group and Shein, signed the athlete because he “embodies the youthful energy and style that Aéropostale is known for,” the company said.
Carven appears in ads for the company in a variety of pieces including Aéropostale’s Baggy Jeans, that retail for $64.95, as well as varsity jackets, denim overshirts, quarter-zip fleece pullovers, a barn jacket with a contrast colored collar and graphic T-shirts.
“Partnering with Aéropostale is really cool because their style is trendy while also relaxed,” Sullivan said. “I’ve always been into fashion that’s both trendy and easy to wear like their baggy jeans and varsity jackets; they’re also the kind of clothes I’d wear to just hang out with my friends or head to practice. It’s awesome to represent a brand that connects with my vibe on and off the field.”
In May 2016, the teen chain filed a voluntary petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy court protection. Four months later, Authentic stepped in to lead a consortium including Simon and Brookfield Properties to acquire Aéropostale for $243.3 million. Brookfield is no longer involved.
