Soleil Moon Frye's 4 Children: All About Poet, Jagger, Lyric and Story
'Punky Brewster' star Soleil Moon Frye is a proud mom of four
Punky Brewster star Soleil Moon Frye is all grown up with four children of her own.
The former child star shares daughters Poet Sienna Rose and Jagger Joseph Blue, as well as sons Lyric Sonny Roads and Story Indigo Moon with her ex-husband Jason Goldberg, whom she split from in 2020 after 22 years of marriage.
“When I was a little girl, I used to tell my mom I wanted 100 kids,” she told PEOPLE prior to the birth of her fourth child. “Then as an adult, I thought that our family was so big with three. Then we have this amazing, incredible surprise with four, and I’m just so thrilled and excited and literally cannot believe it.”
After welcoming her first two kids, Poet and Jagger, Soleil admittedly had questions about parenting, and turned to social media for support.
“I found that it was this balancing act,” she shared with PEOPLE in 2011. “I was always trying to find the balance between trying my best and being an incredible parent. I literally realized that it was chaos — but it was happy chaos.”
Here's everything there is to know about Soleil Moon Frye's children: Poet, Jagger, Lyric and Story.
Poet Sienna Rose Goldberg, 19
Frye and Goldberg welcomed their daughter Poet Sienna Rose on Aug. 24, 2005. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, along with other close friends and relatives, were in the delivery room to support the new parents.
When Poet was 21 months old, the actress told PEOPLE that she was “learning so much about” herself through her daughter. Frye said, “I thought I’d be able to pass on so many lessons, but I think it’s mutual in that we’re teaching each other, and she teaches me about love and life every day. I have to remind myself, she’s a baby! Because she seems so much bigger than life.”
At 13 years old, Poet was already an “amazing public speaker,” according to her mom. Speaking to PEOPLE, Frye said, “I could definitely see her hosting something amazing. She’s also an incredible advocate and speaks on things she believes in.”
In 2022, Poet organized her first protest. "My daughter Poet put together an anti-gun violence rally herself within three days, about three weeks ago," Frye told PEOPLE. "And it was mind-blowing to see. In this protest, over a hundred people showed up and it was something that came from her heart and it's very close to our family."
Sharing a photo of Poet from the protest on Instagram, the proud mom wrote, "To my children who are making their voices heard and to my incredible @poet_siennarose who put together her first protest to speak out and be heard. I am so in awe of you and the activism, courage, and strength that you have.”
Jagger Joseph Blue Goldberg, 16
Frye and Goldberg expanded their family with the birth of their daughter Jagger Joseph Blue on March 17, 2008.
When Jagger was 10 years old, Frye revealed that her daughter enjoyed performing and wanted to start acting. “My 10-year-old is obsessed and asks me every day. I keep telling her, ‘Okay, just a little longer, we’ll see.’ But she is yearning in every way. Every single day she begs to be in the business, and to be in front of the camera or on stage,” Frye told PEOPLE.
The Wild Horses director was joined by both of her daughters at the CORE Gala in 2022. Chatting with PEOPLE at the event, the mom of four shared that Jagger did a “beautiful piece” on voting rights. “It's just exquisite to see them growing into such amazing people that are also so philanthropic,” Frye said.
Jagger may be following in her mom's footsteps, just behind the camera instead of in front of it. In July 2024, Frye's second-born directed her first music video and her mom shared some behind-the-scenes footage on her Instagram. "I am blown away. I love watching you flourish @jaggerblue_ in your brilliant artistry and as a truly magnificent being," the Young Artist Award winner wrote in the caption.
The budding director also made a short film called Fake Identity in 2024.
Lyric Sonny Roads Goldberg, 10
Frye and Goldberg welcomed their first son, Lyric Sonny Roads, on Feb. 10, 2014.
Before his birth, Fyre shared her excitement over raising a son. She admitted to PEOPLE, “I’m excited to be able to raise him in a household of girls, and teach him to be a gentleman at an early age.”
Lyric’s name includes a tribute to Frye’s late father, boxer Virgil Frye. “While I was pregnant, we kept seeing the word ‘lyric’ over and over again. We’re big believers in signs. So it was meant to be,” the actress revealed to PEOPLE. “Sonny was the nickname of my dad and Roads is a name we love. We always wanted ‘Roadie’ as a nickname.”
The author has previously described her elder son as a “mini comedian.”
“All he wants to do is make everybody laugh,” she told PEOPLE in 2018. “He says things that are completely inappropriate and he’s the funniest little guy you’ve ever met."
In a tribute to commemorate Lyric’s birthday in 2024, Frye shared a video of her son trying to stay awake to ring in the exact moment he turned 10 at midnight. “Lyric you are a pure dream. Thank you for making our lives so special and full of love," she wrote on Instagram. "The world is so much brighter and more beautiful with you in it ... I am so truly honored and in humble gratitude to be your mama."
Story Indigo Moon Goldberg, 8
Frye and Goldberg completed their family with the birth of their son Story Indigo Moon on May 16, 2016.
“We are a family of unique names. I loved having a name that was different as a kid,” Frye told PEOPLE after her son’s arrival. “We started with our Poet and now our Story feels complete.”
Story celebrated his 8th birthday in 2024. To mark his special day, Frye shared a few sweet photos of herself and her younger son.
“I look at you and see those beautiful blue eyes staring at me as a new born baby and those same stunning eyes like the sky looking at the world while growing so fast," she wrote on Instagram. "I love the way we love each other in our joy and quiet moments, swimming in the ocean or cuddled up together."
Frye continued, “I love you beyond the galaxy, across the Universe and on and on… My wonderful, loving, kind, funny, beautiful, inspiring son my heart is full of gratitude for the miracle of you."
