Sophia Bush is getting ready to scrub in.

The One Tree Hill and Chicago P.D. star will join Grey’s Anatomy season 21 in a recurring role as Dr. Cass Beckman, a trauma surgeon who is amiable, fun and a little messy around the edges. She works at Seattle Presbyterian Hospital and is married to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital cardiothoracic surgeon David Beckman. At this point, it’s unclear if Dr. David Beckman will be cast as well.

Bush will make her Grey’s Anatomy debut in episode six of the current season, which will air Nov. 7.

She took to social media to share a video following the announcement. “I just wasn’t done with my scrubs,” she captioned the post.

The actress previously portrayed a doctor onscreen in Good Sam, which ran for one season on CBS. She portrayed Dr. Samantha Griffith, who becomes the top surgeon at Lakeshore Sentinel Hospital when her boss and father, Dr. Rob Griffith (Jason Isaacs), falls into a coma.

She has appeared in several other TV shows like Love, Victor, Chicago Med, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, This Is Us, Partners and Nip/Tuck. Her film credits include John Tucker Must Die, False Positive and Incredibles 2.

In addition to Grey’s Anatomy, Bush also has the untitled One Tree Hill sequel series in the works, in which she’ll reprise her role of Brooke Davis from the original series and serve as an executive producer. Hilarie Burton Morgan will also return to the role of Peyton Sawyer and executive produce alongside Bush and former co-star Danneel Ackles.

“This go-around, being able to work with a team of women and look at these stories [and] these characters through a female lens is something that — whether I was doing a reboot or a brand new show or a different movie at this phase in my life, female teamwork is something that is so vital to me,” Burton Morgan said of the sequel series.

It is unknown at this point if any of the other original One Tree Hill stars will appear, including Chad Michael Murray, Bethany Joy Lenz, James Lafferty, Lee Norris, Antwon Tanner, Jackson Brundage and Austin Nichols.
