Sophia Loren’s Lookalike Granddaughter Lucia Is Making Her Public Debut in the Most Vintage-Inspired Way
The legendary actress Sophia Loren has a lookalike granddaughter, Lucia-Sofia Ponti, and she’s making her public debut in the most vintage-inspired way you can think of: at a Debutante Ball.
That’s right, Debutante Balls are still a thing, but with a distinct change. Held in Paris on Nov 30, the Debutante Ball was renamed to “le Bal,” and it’s all to raise money for charities that help young women. Loren’s granddaughter Lucia is making her debut there, and is taking all of her grandma’s fashion advice into mind.

“My grandmother always believed in timeless elegance and the importance of wearing something that reflects your true self. Growing up, she taught me the value of simplicity, tailoring, and always adding a touch of uniqueness to your outfit,” she said to Hello! Magazine, where you can see how much of a lookalike she really is to her grandmother. “Her wardrobe was filled with pieces that told a story, and I’ve carried that mindset with me.”
During the interview, she tried on a bunch of Armani gowns from the 2018 Fall Haute Couture Collection (which is extra special when you remember how close Giorgio Armani is with Loren). Per the outlet, she decided on a vintage-inspired cream gown that featured intricate lace, beading and sequin embellishment detailing throughout.
Now, why did she choose this gown? Well, in the interview, she added what type of looks she typically goes for, saying, “I tend to go for dresses or clothes that make me feel confident but also are comfortable to wear.”
For those who don’t know, Loren has two sons: Carlo Ponti and Edoardo Ponti. Edoardo has two children named Lucia Sofia (born in May 12, 2006) and Leonardo Fortunato (born on Dec. 20, 2010).
Carlos also has two children, Vittorio Leone Ponti (born on April 2, 2007) and Beatrice Lara (born on March 15, 2012).
